Announcement    Wool Fabric for Rug Hooking, Hand-dyed and Mill-dyed, Primitive Rug Hooking Patterns and Supplies. Welcome to my Etsy Shop. I am pleased to offer you beautiful 100% wool for Rug Hooking, Appliqué, Quilting, Sewing and Crafting.

I have been rug hooking since 1989 and as the years go by, I become more intrigued with the way my imagination and creativity are constantly moved to new projects, ideas, colors, designs, textures - the list goes on!! Many of us, as we evolve into "hookers", feel the need to tell our own stories with our rugs; family history, pets, homes we've lived in and favorite places. I hope you can find something on my site to help you express yourself and tell your story!

I offer mill dyed wool from top U.S. distributors, washed and dried for your convenience. Much of the wool I offer has been hand dyed by me using published and original dye recipes. It is so much fun to create these colors, even the unexpected ones which sometimes turn out to be the most fun!! I have been teaching rug hooking classes at the North House Folk School since 2009 and also teach in my wool studio.

If you have longed for a therapeutic yet utilitarian craft, then rug hooking is for you! Rug hooking traces its roots to the northern colonies and Canada, when immigrants utilized textiles on hand to create rugs for their homes. Hooked rugs are made by drawing narrow strips of wool fabric through a background fabric of cotton, linen or burlap with a curved hook much like a crochet hook.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
